In order to successfully engineer this project, we've learned how fungi work, how they break down plastic, and done some of our own testing in the Carter Lab on campus.

We've completed our own testing of P. Ostreatus and G. Lucidum in the Carter Lab. We've tested how well these fungi degrade plastic under different conditions, so we can replicate these conditions in our design. View our data and research conclusions here.
